Mark Hollis, Principal & Broker
Mark moved to
Birmingham in 1984 to manage a restaurant founded by his
father in 1964. The restaurant is still located in its
original location and is frequented by loyal customers. Mark
Hollis started his real estate career in the Spring of 1992
and in February 2004 formed Hollis Real Estate, LLC. He has over
fifteen years experience as a commercial real estate agent and has
consistently been a top producer among commercial real estate
agents in Birmingham. He has closed over 80 transactions and
sold or leased more than $25M worth of property in the Hwy 280
- I-459 corridor alone. Mark has represented clients in
transactions which include leasing, selling, or acquiring commercial land, shopping centers,
and apartment complexes in Alabama, Florida, and Georgia.
Major property
transactions include sales of over $17M worth of apartment
properties. Land transactions along the Hwy 280 corridor
include representing the owner in the sale of land to Wal-Mart
for their Supercenter. Mark has represented CSX Real Property,
a Ford Motor Company dealer, and acted as agent for a retail
development that presently includes Logan’s Roadhouse,
Bahama Breeze, Kinko’s, Shop a Snack corporate headquarters,
Holiday Inn Express, and a site now owned by Wachovia Bank. In
1999, Mark became a life member of the Million Dollar Sales
club. In the year 2000, the Birmingham
Association of Realtors Commercial Sales Club recognized
Mark as being one of the top three producers in the Investment
Division. Mark has most recently qualified for the
Million Dollar Sales Club in 2004, 2005, and 2006.
Mark was born
and raised in Hibbing, Minnesota. Beginning at the age of 18,
he worked in numerous steel
plants on the historic Mesabi Range in Northern Minnesota for companies
such as Bechtel and American Bridge.
Mark enjoyed
playing all sports as a teenager. He likes to travel, enjoys
the serenity of the outdoors and has a passion for vintage
motorcycles and cars.
Karen White, Associate Broker
Karen
is a Birmingham native and a graduate of The University of
Alabama. She began her real estate career in new home sales
for a large residential real estate development
and construction company in Memphis, Tennessee. After returning to Birmingham, Karen
continued working in the real estate field but her focus
became commercial real estate and property management. In addition, she
earned an accounting degree from The University of Alabama at
Birmingham in 1997.
Karen
was an accountant with a real
estate company prior to joining Hollis Real
Estate, LLC in 2004. She
is responsible for office administration and accounting.
